Lidarti’s Oratorio “Esther”
The Arizona Bach Festival presents the Lidarti’s Oratorio: Esther. Composed in 1774 for the Portuguese Jewish community of Amsterdam, Esther is the only known late Baroque oratorio in the Jewish tradition, set entirely in Hebrew.
For this performance, Chen provided the Hebrew translation and served as language coach for the production.
